Inmate hurt after jumping from 2nd level at jail |

A jail inmate is recovering at St. Cloud Hospital after he jumped off the second level in a cell area at the Crow Wing County Jail. The inmate, Larry Richard Hackler Jr., 45, was injured on Sept. 9 after he attempted to jump from a second level onto a corrections officer on the first level, according to a complaint filed in Crow Wing County District Court. Hackler, who was being booked into the jail on charges of felony imprisonment, felony second-degree assault, felony terroristic threats and gross misdemeanor obstructing justice, now also faces a charge of felony fourth-degree assault of a corrections employee. Hackler was transported to St. Cloud Hospital, where Monday he was reported in good condition. The nature of Hackler’s injuries weren’t known.
