Nevada Gets Award for Program for Aging Prisoners |

CARSON CITY, Nev. -- A Nevada program that helps meet the needs of elderly prisoners in Carson City is getting national recognition. The Nevada Department of Corrections announced this week that psychologist Mary Harrison will accept the first-ever Dr. Mary Ann Quaranta Elder Justice Award at Fordham University in New York City. The award ceremony is set for Oct. 8. Harrison administers the Senior Structured Living Program that's known as "True Grit" at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center. Read More. |
