BOSTON (AP) - A federal judge has sentenced a former Massachusetts corrections officer to 2½ years in prison for his role in attempting to smuggle heroin to sell to inmates at a medium-security prison near Boston. Ronald McGinn Jr. of Bridgewater was also sentenced Tuesday serve two years of supervised release, nearly three months after he pleaded guilty to possession of heroin with intent to distribute at MCI-Norfolk.
