Hartford man charged in death of correctional officer acquitted |

A judge acquitted a Hartford man on a manslaughter charge on Tuesday in relation to the death of a Florida correctional officer. After testimony in a Geneva County jury trial, Geneva County Circuit Judge Ken Quattlebaum acquitted Jonathan Windham, 24, before the case was sent to a jury. Windham was initially charged after the death of 52-year-old Timothy Fowler, who died in January 2009 after an altercation he had with Windham. Fowler worked as an officer with the Florida Department of Corrections at the time of his death.
