Corrections employee kills himself in standoff with police |

A Department of Corrections employee from Leominster was found dead today in an apparent suicide after he barricaded himself in his apartment in an hours-long standoff with State Police, officials said. Kyle Desrosiers, 24, of 175 Elm St. was found dead at 7:18 a.m. from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the Worcester district attorney’s office said in a statement. Members of the State Police Special Tactical Operations (STOP) team responded to reports of a man barricading himself inside the apartment around 3:50 a.m. After several hours of negotiations, the STOP Team entered the apartment at 7:18 a.m. and discovered Desrosiers’ body, the statement said.
