Inmate brother not allowed to go to funeral

The grieving family of a Des Moines man killed over the weekend wants more than anything for Marion Harris’ brother to be able to attend the funeral.

As of Monday, the family thought it would happen, even though John Harris is serving a life sentence at the Fort Dodge state prison for first-degree murder.

State prison officials reportedly told the family on Monday they would transport the inmate to Des Moines so he could attend his brother’s memorial service on Oct. 18.

But Iowa Department of Corrections officials rescinded the approval Tuesday for what the family contends is an unfounded reason. Prison officials reportedly told the family they would not allow the visit because of concerns gang-related violence could jeopardize the safety of the prison officers accompanying Harris.

    These days are very difficult for every one as lockdown has been establish in most countries, like you said Funeral supplies are very hard to find and they are also not letting anyone attend it.
