WENATCHEE — The felon who made a dramatic escape from a police traffic stop and a subsequent car crash was arrested Oct. 6 in Lincoln County. Police say Jason R. Fowler, 36, sped away from a Washington State Patrol traffic stop in north Wenatchee Sept. 24, then ran on foot through yards, garages and hedges after crashing his vehicle-head-on into an oncoming SUV. Despite a police search and warnings to Wenatchee residents to be on the lookout, he apparently slipped out of town the next day. Washington State Patrol Lt. Kandi Patrick said Fowler may have fled town in a vehicle stolen from a driveway in the Sleepy Hollow area. That same vehicle was reportedly involved in a police pursuit in Lincoln County, Patrick said. Fowler was arrested in Spokane by the Washington Department of Corrections. He was previously convicted of residential burglary and theft of a firearm, and was under DOC supervision at the time of his Wenatchee escape. “He’s still behind bars, and he’ll be there for a while,” Patrick said Monday.
