Onslow County NC -- The new Onslow County Justice Complex sits nearly empty after 2 years under construction. What's the hold up? To find out we had to sift through the numbers. The new building will hold 528 prisoner beds. That will come in handy since Onslow County leases beds from Sampson County now at 50 bucks per prisoner, per night. So if Onslow County had one inmate housed outside the county for a 30 day sentence- that's a $1500 bill out of pocket. Once the building is open, there will be enough beds for Onslow inmates and extra for to lease to other counties. Read More. |
