Authorities to trick-or-treat at sex offenders' homes |

San Diego County CA --On Halloween night, state parole officers will visit thousands of paroled sex offenders statewide to make sure they're leaving trick-or-treating children alone. The 18th annual sweep, named Operation Boo, aims to keep the neighborhood's scariest inhabitants indoors and under close watch while kids roam the streets. Registered sex offenders on parole are ordered to stay inside their homes from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. Halloween night, leaving their porches dark and devoid of decorations or candy that could lure trick-or-treaters, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
