NY -- I would like to publicly thank Ogdensburg Mayor William Nelson for his leadership and dedication in helping to keep the Ogdensburg Correctional Facility safe and open. For the past several years, the Ogdensburg facility has been under the microscope, with the commissioner of corrections claiming that there was no need for OCF and that the cost to keep it open has become burdensome to the taxpayers of New York state. With Bill’s leadership, diligence and dedication, along with a number of other residents, business leaders, political figures, and many more citizens of the surrounding communities, we have proven that OCF is one of the most cost-effective, and well-run correctional facilities in the state.
