Two inmates were hospitalized yesterday after a brawl erupted during a game of pool in the Cook County jail's maximum security building in Chicago, Ill. Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Sally Daly says as many as ten inmates were involved in the fight that occurred yesterday afternoon at the jail's Division Ten building. She says two of the inmates were taken to local hospitals with head injuries that did not appear to be life threatening. The men were in a gymnasium playing pool when the fight broke out and the inmates began striking each other with pool balls. Daly says no jail officers were injured in the few minutes it took to break up the fight. The incident is under investigation. |
