SPARTA, Ga. (AP) — The Georgia Corrections Department says officials are investigating a fight involving several inmates at a state prison in Sparta. Authorities say the fight at Hancock State Prison in Sparta sent 12 inmates to the hospital appears to be gang-related. Department of Corrections spokeswoman Kristen Stancil said Saturday that investigators believe that cell phones brought illegally inside the prison were used to organize the large disturbance.
