Bolivar man dies in Moberly Correctional Center |

Missouri -- A Bolivar man serving a five-year prison sentence at the Moberly Correctional Center died Saturday morning. According to a press release from the Missouri Department of Corrections, Christopher A. Pitts, 21, was pronounced dead at 11:40 a.m. Saturday. The DOC received Pitts on July 21. An autopsy will be performed. Pitts was originally charged with stealing a tractor seeder and bench grinder from Alan Pitts at South 122nd Road on March 14 and was placed on probation, according to the court file. He was sentenced to five years in prison after violating his probation by new charges of interfering with duties of an officer and stealing, associating with convicted felon James Lee, use of narcotics, failure to report and failure to complete a substance abuse treatment program.
