State officials have confirmed that one of two men arrested in a car last week with more than $12,000 worth of cocaine was working as a correctional officer. Until Monday, Richard Demetric Mays, 26, of 314 SE 13th St., worked for the Florida Department of Corrections at the Levy Forestry Camp. Prison spokeswoman Paula Bryant said the agency was in the process of firing Mays on Monday. Read More. |
