ALAMOSA — Two men were arrested and three more are sought after a transitional client at Community Corrections was assaulted.

Dustin Monroe Allison and James Sunwoo were arrested at Community Corrections Friday night soon after the Alamosa Police Department was notified of the assault. Alexander Smith, Shane Bursie, and Silas Padilla avoided arrest by escaping the facility.

A statewide alert was sent out by the APD, but they have not yet been caught.

Cpt. Robert Jackson of the APD said the assault was the result of an argument about money.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was treated at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center.

Sunwoo was at Community Corrections after his conviction and sentence of three years in the DOC from El Paso County; Allison was transitioning at Community Corrections after being convicted and sentenced in a Denver court.

Allison, 23, was charged with a class six felony, tampering with physical evidence, and third degree assault.

Allison is a black male with brown hair and eyes.
