Prison Privatization vote postponed

The vote on a multi-billion dollar prison privatization deal has been postponed. The privatization plan would turn a half billion dollars worth of Florida prisons over to private companies. They'd be required to operate with 7% less money than state prisons but no study has determined if economists are comparing bad apples to bad apples when it comes to the *types of inmates being housed. Opposition to the plan cost State Senator Mike Fasano his chairmanship of the criminal and civil justice appropriations committee and his seat on the main budget committee. Sen.
