Allegheny County Jail gets new acting warden

The Allegheny County Jail has a new acting warden starting today, and officials hope this will be the last caretaker before a permanent warden is named.

William S. Stickman III started his career as a corrections officer at the State Correctional Institution Pittsburgh, and retired in 2007 as deputy secretary of corrections for the western region, said Amie Downs, spokeswoman for county Executive Rich Fitzgerald. Mr. Stickman will become the third acting warden to run the lockup since the January 2011 departure of Ramon Rustin from that post.
