Bill Lamoreaux, spokesman for the Arizona Department of Corrections, told the Arizona Silver Belt the Emerald Corrections Corporation was among the firms represented at the agency’s pre-bid conference held last Friday in Phoenix. In a third attempt now to build new private prisons in the state, ADOC is seeking once again proposals to build and operate private prisons. This time the agency only seeks bids for correctional institutions that would hold up to 2,000 medium security male inmates instead of 5,000. Read More. |
