| Prison Guards Now Equipped With Tasers |

There's a new weapon in Michigan prisons, but don't worry, it's the guards that are using them. The new tool is generating lots of buzz. The Department of Corrections started experimenting with tazers back in December. In 5 prisons around the state they trained some officers on how to use them and in what situations. Officials say the results so far have been very promising. In the past, in order to break up an assault or fight, it was the correction officer who actually had to get in the middle of it and break it up. That can be very dangerous, and many times these officers have been seriously hurt. So the officers are enjoying the new tool, and believe it or not, so are the prisoners. Read More. |
