Etowah County, AL -- The medical unit inside the Etowah County Detention Center is where sick inmates go for treatment or where inmates who are dangerous to themselves or others are housed. Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin on Monday at a news conference said Joyce Garrard and Jessica Hardin, both in jail for their alleged roles in 9-year-old Savannah Hardin’s death, are being held in the medical unit, which has four patient rooms, a suicide prevention cell and a waiting room. Entrekin said Garrard, who is being held with no bond, is in the unit on suicide watch. Hardin, who is being held on a $500,000 cash bond, is in the unit after having given birth days after Savannah’s death. Read More. |
