Jail looking for more budget cuts |

AUBURN, ME — Sheriff Guy Desjardins is looking for cuts in jail spending again. With less than four months to go before the start of the 2013 fiscal year, the Androscoggin County Jail is facing a state-mandated 1 percent cut. "I think this (fiscal) year, 2013, we're going to finally hit rock bottom," Desjardins said. The current budget stands at $5,569,314. The state is asking for a cut of $211,000. Read More. |
