SYCAMORE. IL – A man already in the DeKalb County Jail had his bond set at $75,000 Thursday for new charges of bringing cocaine into the jail.

Gregory A. Sanders, 20, of DeKalb was charged with unlawful possession of contraband in a penal institution and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. He appeared in court via closed-circuit TV from the DeKalb County Jail.

After a sheriff’s deputy received a tip from an inmate, the deputy conducted a strip search of Sanders on Wednesday and found a clear bag containing less than 15 grams of cocaine in his left sock, according to court documents.

DeKalb County Sheriff Roger Scott said Sanders was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear in court on a domestic battery charge and was taken to the jail early Wednesday. Bond had been set on that warrant at $3,000.
