| Rio inmates compete in beauty pageant |

Inmates at Rio de Janeiro's Talaverna Bruce Prison competed in the jail's "Miss Prisoner" pageant. The pageant is organized by prison officials in order to boost the inmates' self esteem. More than half of the prison's inmates are serving time for drug trafficking offenses and many are foreign nationals. After three rounds of competition, Elisabeth Sardinha, 25, of Portugal, was awarded the crown. |
