NY will require prison visitors to have photo IDs |

ALBANY, N.Y. — New York state prison officials will require inmate visitors to present a form of photo identification later this year. The state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision says the photo requirement will go into effect for all adult visitors on Oct. 1. Also, a photograph will be taken of each adult visitor for the agency's records. Read More. |

We have required photo ID for all visitors at the county jail for years.If the parent of a juvenile under 16 goes in with the son or daughter they have to provide an original birth certificate for the child. If they have no photo ID they are not allowed in the facility. The same goes for persons coming in for finger prints, all must have photo ID.
