ACLU wants ban on type of strip search in Michigan |

The American Civil Liberties Union wants the Michigan Department of Corrections to ban a type of strip search that the group says humiliates female prisoners. The Detroit Free Press reports Thursday that the ACLU says women are forced to expose themselves in view of other prisoners while a female guard checks to see whether they're concealing contraband. The ACLU claims the searches are designed to humiliate and degrade the women. Read More. |
