McALESTER — An Oklahoma State Penitentiary inmate was found dead in his cell Monday morning, according to OSP officials. Steve A. Wainscott, 53, was found hanging in his cell on OSP’s “C” Block Monday at 9:05 a.m., just after the 9 a.m. count. “Officers noticed the offender unresponsive,” said OSP Warden’s Assistant Terry Crenshaw. “Security and medical staff responded immediately to the incident.
