Riverton – Wyoming felon at large Arthur Penrod has been apprehended. Penrod was placed on felon at large status on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 shortly after it was determined he had been wrongfully released from the Wyoming State Penitentiary (WSP). Riverton law enforcement officials, who were working in partnership with Casper law enforcement and others, informed Wyoming Department of Corrections (WDOC) leadership Penrod had been apprehended in Riverton at approximately 12:20pm on April 16, 2012. Penrod was at his girlfriend’s house at the time of his arrest and was taken into custody without incident. Penrod was taken to the Riverton Police Department and will be returned to custody at WSP. He had finished a sentence for burglary and was scheduled to complete a consecutive sentence for aiding in an aggravated assault when he was mistakenly released. By policy, the WDOC is conducting an internal investigation, which is in progress. |
