By Minnesota Department of Corrections
Published: 05/11/2012

St. Paul - Eddie Miles has been named warden of the Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF)-Lino Lakes.

“Lino Lakes is where I started my career as an officer and I have always had a special place in my heart for this facility,” Miles said. “When the opportunity came up for me to return, I couldn’t say no. I'm grateful to the department for giving me this opportunity to be closer to home.”

Miles began his state service in 1992 as a corrections officer at Lino Lakes. In 1997, he became an investigator with the Office of Special Investigations, working at several facilities. Miles accepted a program director position at the MCF-Stillwater in 2005 and went on to serve as associate warden of operations. He served as warden at the MCF-Lino Lakes from 2009 until becoming warden at St. Cloud in 2011. He has a bachelor’s degree in sociology and youth studies from the University of Minnesota.

“Eddie Miles is a great leader for our department,” said Commissioner Tom Roy. “I’m confident he will be able to continue the good work happening at Lino Lakes.”

Miles’ appointment was effective May 7. He succeeds John King, who was named assistant commissioner of the facility services division for the department. Collin Gau will serve as acting warden at the MCF-St. Cloud.

The MCF-Lino Lakes is a medium-security correctional facility for adult males with a population of 1,300.
