BOISE, May 24, 2012 -- As the result of an investigation launched by the Idaho Department of Correction’s Office of Professional Standards and turned over to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, a former IDOC correctional officer has been arrested for allegedly having sexual contact with an inmate. Sebastian Lieber was hired by IDOC on June 20, 2011. He worked at Idaho Maximum Security Institution south of Boise. Lieber was placed on administrative leave with pay on April 9. He resigned on April 18. The sexual contact allegedly occurred while the inmate was being treated at a Boise hospital. The charge of sexual contact with a prisoner is a felony. IDOC refers all felony criminal investigations to the local law enforcement agency which has jurisdiction over the area where the crime allegedly occurred. Because this is a personnel matter, IDOC will have no further comment. |
