Dale Glass named new St. Louis corrections commissioner |

Mayor Francis Slay today appointed Dale Glass as acting corrections commissioner, taking the place of the removed but not-yet-fired Gene Stubblefield. Glass is a St. Louis University grad, decorated U.S. Army vet and 28-year state corrections worker, who retired in 2009 as deputy warden of the Missouri Department of Corrections facility in Pacific, Mo. There, Glass said he supervised an institution with 1,100 male inmates and 300 employees. George Lombardi, director of the state corrections department, praised Glass’s rise through ranks. “He has strong leadership skills and engenders enthusiasm and competence in his subordinates,” Glass said in a statement to be released today through the mayor’s office.
