Escapee captured, accomplice arrested |

Jackson, Miss. - State inmate JAMES M. HOPKINS, who had escaped from the Hinds County Detention Center in Raymond, Miss. Monday, has been captured. Hopkins was apprehended at approximately 4:45 a.m. this morning in Brookhaven, Miss., by investigators with the Mississippi Department of Corrections - Corrections Investigation Division with assistance from the United States Marshal's Service Gulf Coast Regional Task Force and the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office. Authorities had been searching for Hopkins, a 34-year old white male who is serving a 20-year sentence for a conviction of Grand Larceny, Escape, and Possession with Intent to Manufacture from Rankin County.
