Ryan Leaf gets 15 months of treatment, prerelease as part of five-year sentence |

MT -- At the Great Falls court hearing Tuesday to determine Ryan Leaf's ultimate punishment for crimes he committed during a high-profile relapse into pain killer addiction, everyone involved asked the judge to focus on the former NFL quarterback's need for treatment and spare him a harsh prison sentence. Everyone, that is, except for Leaf himself. "I'm lazy and dishonest and selfish," the troubled Great Falls native said in a self-effacing statement to the court. "These were behaviors I had before my addiction kicked in." With his hair unkempt and a full beard on his face, Leaf called the time he spent in jail since his April 2 arrest a "sanctuary" and seemed to have accepted more jail time as a way to prevent further embarrassment to his family.
