Law enforcement officials were searching for three inmates who escaped early Tuesday morning from the Beckham County Jail in Sayre, Okla. The three men apparently made it through an unsecured door inside the jail, removed an air conditioning unit from a window and then took a cage off the window to escape, said Beckham County Sheriff Scott Jay. They were identified as Antonio Suarez, 21; Michael Delaney Marshall, 42; and Edward Flores Martinez, 40. Jay said Marshall was in jail in connection with a drug trafficking charge. Martinez and Suarez were both accused of second-degree burglary. Authorities believe the three men stole a car and left Beckham County. "We don't have any reports of a stolen vehicle, but we're pretty positive they are in a stolen vehicle," Jay said. "It looks like they're headed east." Jay said there is no evidence to indicate the men are armed, but he said they should be considered dangerous. "They are prisoners, and at least one of them was headed to the penitentiary," he said. "When you have that kind of situation, it's kind of unpredictable what they'll do." |
