| 2 Prison Guards Indicted On Bribery, Smuggling Charges |

Two correctional officers at a federal prison in Marianna, Fla., were charged in separate indictments with bribery and smuggling contraband into the prison. Prosecutors on Tuesday announced the indictments of the officers, Steven M. Smith and Mary S. Summers. Smith allegedly agreed to smuggle items such as a synthetic marijuana called “spice,” a cell phone and tobacco in exchange for cash and store-valued cards.
