Another female inmate files sexual assault suit

Utah -- A second woman has filed a federal civil lawsuit accusing a former Wasatch County Sheriff’s deputy of sexual assault during her stay in the county’s jail, also naming the jail and Utah Department of Corrections as defendants for failing to provide appropriate training and supervision that might have prevented the assaults.

In a court documents filed this week in U.S. District Court, "D.H" says she was placed at the jail in March 2010 and Deputy Christopher Stein Epperson "immediately began to make suggestive compliments" about her physical appearance that increased in intensity, frequency and luridness during a short period of time. Epperson allegedly became more aggressive, asking the inmate to lift her shirt while in her cell so he could take photos of her breasts with his cell phone, the complaint states. The Salt Lake Tribune is not naming the woman because she is the alleged victim of a sexual assault.

The inmate refused, but Epperson then allegedly began threatening to place her in lock-down status, cutting off telephone and in-person visits with family, if she did not cooperate. "Following these threats and demands, photographs were taken by the deputy," the lawsuit states.

The woman, sent to prison on a theft conviction, alleges that Epperson subsequently threatened to file paperwork that would lengthen her sentence if she reported the events. He also began taking her to a windowless room at night where he took additional photographs, molested her and forced her to touch his groin.

Despite Epperson’s threats, the inmate reported the assaults to corrections’ employees and caseworkers on numerous occasions during her 10-month stay at the jail. She also shared what was happening with several other female inmates, who also alerted jail personnel, the lawsuit says, but no action was taken.

Excuse me: Replace my word Misogyny with misandry. My bad.

Male guards should over-see male inmates. Female guards should over-see female inmates. Misogyny is a symptom of political correctness because the system is programmed to view a male as guilty even before investigation. In Maryland years ago some female guards would pull a curtain open while a male was showering at count. One male sued and won but instead of getting rid of the "problem" they made the female guards yell there is a female on the floor before the molestation. It is a form of disrespect and abuse of authority for such "harassment" to occur---in my humble opinion.
