| Baxter County Can Still Use Jail Inmates for Work |

Arkansas -- Despite problems that turned up in a recent investigation, a state committee says that the Arkansas Department of Corrections will still assign inmate workers to the Baxter County jail. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette newspaper reports that an oversight committee voted this week to allow the Baxter County Sheriff’s Department to continue participating in a state program that allows inmates to cook, cut grass, and perform other chores.
