Sheriff presents monthly awards

FL -- Investigation and education were rewarded at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office recently as Sheriff John Rutherford hosted the monthly Meritorious Awards ceremony July 26 in the Police Memorial Building’s Patrol Assembly Hall.

Here are the awards handed out:

Police Officer of the Month – Detective George Nagle, Missing Persons Unit, for the investigative skills he used in a July 2011 case that led to the safe recovery of a missing teenage girl from Manville, New Jersey.

Corrections Officer of the Month – Corrections Officer Lisa Love, Montgomery Correctional Center, for her dedication and supervision of 20 educational programs for male and female inmates that ended with 85 inmates receiving their General Equivalency Diploma (GED) diplomas in 2011.
