| Offender Escapes from Plummer Community Corrections Center |

An offender serving a sentence at the Plummer Community Corrections Center (PCCC) in Wilmington left the facility grounds without authorization on Thursday, August 9. John H. Hensley was observed leaving the facility by climbing over a perimeter fence around 6:45 p.m. Hensley is a 22-year-old white male (DOB 07/16/1990) who is 5’06” and weighs 170 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair, although his head is currently shaved. He has pierced ears, a scar on his chest and a tattoo on his right forearm. Hensley was last seen wearing black pants and a black shirt. His last known address is in Wilmington. Hensley arrived at PCCC on June 13, 2012 to serve an eight-month sentence for Violation of Probation on an original charge of Assault 2nd. Department of Correction staff and local law enforcement continue their search for Hensley and request that anyone with information call (800) 542-9524 or their local police department. Plummer Community Corrections Center is a Level 4 facility where the Department of Correction manages offenders who are transitioning back into the community. These centers are not secured like Level 5 prisons, as offenders are permitted to the leave the facility to go to work, seek jobs or attend approved treatment sessions. |
