| Idaho to auction off surplus housing near prison |

BOISE, Idaho -- The Idaho Department of Correction is auctioning off about 7 acres of land that was once used as housing for correctional officers at the North Idaho Correctional Institution in Cottonwood. The land is just north of the town of Cottonwood, and the state cautions that it's being sold as is - the 18 houses on the property are condemned and uninsurable, and repairs would be expensive.
