Englewood man dies after assault in Hunterdon prison |

HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ — The death of an Englewood man serving time in a Clinton Township Prison last week has been ruled a homicide, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III announced yesterday. Joshua Jones, 23, suffered "severe trauma" as a result of an assault at the Mountainview Youth Correctional Facility on Aug. 14, according to Kearns. He was discovered in a dorm where he resided with several other inmates, and was flown to Morristown Medical Center. He died two days later. Kearns said that detectives from his office and the Department of Corrections Special Investigations Division are investigating the circumstances surrounding the assault. He declined to release details on whether the inmates Jones shared the dorm with may have been involved. Read More. |
