NIC Public Hearing on Cost Benefit and Cost Containment Measures |

On August 22-23, 2012 the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) will hold a public hearing on corrections. The hearing, Balancing Fiscal Challenges, Performance-Based Budgeting, and Public Safety, will be at the Main Conference Center of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. and address the area of cost benefit and cost containment measures. The topics will include: re-engineering corrections, setting the landscape of the current fiscal situation, offender health care, pharmaceutical costs, cost concerns over implementing PREA standards, and cost saving greening strategies.
