Mississippi inmates to receive diplomas this month |

Nearly 180 inmates at the Mississippi Department of Corrections will receive diplomas or certificates in graduation ceremonies this month. The first inmate graduation will be 1 p.m. today at Central Mississippi Correctional Facility, Women’s Visitation Center, 3794 Hwy 468 in Pearl. Thirteen inmates will receive educational and vocational diplomas. The featured speaker will be Margaret Bingham, former superintendent at CMCF. The other ceremonies will be: • 10 a.m., Sept. 14, at the Mississippi Penitentiary at Parchman, Unit 30 gymnasium, for the Adult Basic Education/Vocational School and 9:30 a.m. Sept. 17 for the Alcohol and Drug Program.
