| Changes to test help former South Dakota inmates obtain GEDs |

A change in the testing and scoring process has made way for several former state prison inmates to receive a GED. In May 2012, the state Workforce Development Council approved a scoring realignment to the General Educational Development test. The change modified the passing subtest score minimum from 450 to 410. The new passing scores were also made retroactive to July 1, 2009 making several inmates who were already released from prison eligible to receive a GED. Read More. |
