A former Sing Sing corrections officer last week pled guilty in Westchester County (N.Y.) Court to a charge of bribe receiving in the third degree and attempted escape in the first degree. Westchester District Attorney Jeanine Pirro said Quangtrice Wilson of New York City is the first person in this case to plead guilty. Wilson pled guilty to accepting several thousand dollars in bribes to assist in planning the escape of inmates Nicholas Zimmerman, 28, now at Shawangunk Correctional Facility in Wallkill, and Steven Finley, 27, current at Sullivan Correctional Facility. Wilson provided detailed information on the physical layout of Sing Sing Prison, its operation and security procedures as well as information on officers' uniforms and employee identification cards. Wilson also supplied contraband including three cell phones to those inmates. The inmates, Zimmerman and Finley, have been indicted and charged with 21 counts, including attempted escape in the first degree. Both inmates were transferred from Sing Sing. |
