JACKSON, MI – As runners and walkers approached the Kit Young Center Thursday, teachers ushered students into a line, encouraging them to distribute high fives. The pedestrians obliged, slapping hands while the students cheered. All then lingered in the center driveway off Lansing Avenue until the bicyclists appeared, and the applause began again. About 70 people, most of them police officers and Michigan Department of Corrections employees, participated Thursday in the annual Jackson Law Enforcement Torch Run. Read More. |
