Shawnee County Corrections Director to Retire |

Shawnee County Department of Corrections director Dick Kline will retire effective Oct. 10. Kline, 61, notified the county commission in a letter dated Aug. 29, which was read during the commission’s meeting Thursday. The meeting turned bittersweet after the announcement. Although the chamber was filled with laughter following the news — mostly at Kline’s expense — staff members in attendance and the commissioners couldn’t hide their sadness.
