| More NY Prison Closures Not Expected in Near Future |

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM-TV) - The New York State Commissioner of Corrections said he does not expect any more prison closures within the next few years. Back in 2011, there were as many as eight thousand empty beds throughout the state's 67 prisons. The governor closed six prisons, which cut 38 hundred beds. Read More. |
