PEORIA — The Illinois Secretary of State's Office had one of the most popular booths at the Summit of Hope on Wednesday, a sort of one-stop shopping center for ex-offenders looking for a second, third or maybe fourth chance to stay out of prison. State employees set up a full-service driver's license facility at the Civic Center for Peoria's second annual summit, offering free photo identification cards, driver's license tests and informal hearings for people trying to reinstate revoked driver's licenses.
