Police search for two escaped inmates |

Tuesday, police in DeKalb County (Tenn.) were searching for two inmates who escaped from the Smithville Jail. The prisoners overpowered a correctional officer and escaped around 1 a.m. Police were searching for Toby Young, 25, who was described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 160 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and a tatoo of an Eagle on his back. He was in jail on charges from a pursuit two weeks ago. The other escapee was Kevin Smith, 26, who was described as a white male, 6 feet 2 inches tall and 175 pounds. Smith has brown hair and green eyes. He has a circle scar on the back of his head and several tattoos. He was being held for theft and weapons charges. An investigation was being conducted to determine if negligence led to the escape. |
