Lake City Correctional volunteer award winners 'blessed ...thousands of inmates' |

Florida - A Glen St. Mary couple are among Corrections Corporation of America's Volunteers of the Year for their service at Lake City Correctional Facility. Mary and Joseph Clyde Anderson are one of six recipients of the 2012 Pete Spackman Volunteer of the Year award, which is given to "stand out faith-based volunteers" at the more than 60 U.S. facilities managed by the company, according to a news release. The Andersons have volunteered at Lake City Correctional Center for more than 15 years. Currently they serve as outreach coordinators for the center's volunteer program, an extensive network of churches, businesses and volunteers. Also, the Andersons serve as counselors to the inmates.
